When Rick and Deann Bayless opened Xoco in 2009, they made a key move and placed it next to their twin blockbusters — Topolobampo and Frontera Grill — on Clark Street in River North. Tourists who coul…
I've had Xoco by dining in before and was excited to see it available on Door Dash! The torta was so flavorful and the combination of the potato and chorizo was filling. The chips and salsa are perfectly seasoned and fresh! The amount of chips you get is perfect and generous!

The Milanesa Torta and the Carnitas were both incredible! They’re very flavorful and the ingredients complement one another perfectly. Their sauces are amazing too — 10/10 would drink their Habanero sauce!

“XOCO: Tortas That Deserve a Standing Ovation”
XOCO delivered a feast that turned my kitchen into a Michelin-starred Mexican street food stand. I ordered the Milanesa Torta, Baja Chicken Torta, and Chips and Salsa, and let’s just say, I am now a card-carrying member of the Torta Fan Club.
Milanesa Torta:
This torta was like a glorious Mexican sandwich superhero. The breaded chicken was crispy perfection, paired with fresh veggies and creamy avocado that balanced each bite. The bolillo bread? So soft and perfectly toasted, it might as well have come with a trophy for “Best Supporting Role.” Every bite had me wondering why I ever settled for regular sandwiches.
Baja Chicken Torta:
The Baja Chicken Torta was the MVP of freshness and flavor. The chicken was juicy and packed with smoky goodness, complemented by a zingy slaw that added crunch and a little party to the mix. And the chipotle mayo? Don’t even get me started—spicy, creamy, and the unsung hero of this masterpiece.
Chips and Salsa:
I ordered chips and salsa thinking it’d just be a nice little side dish. HA! These chips were so fresh and crispy, they might’ve been fried in a cloud. The salsa was vibrant, tangy, and had just enough heat to make me feel alive without setting my mouth on fire. Honestly, I’d order a gallon of this salsa if I could.
Everything arrived warm, perfectly packaged, and looking so good I felt bad for digging in without taking a photo first (but not bad enough to stop myself). XOCO, you’ve officially ruined me for any other torta.
12/10, would happily eat my weight in tortas and chips again. And again. And again.

Milanesa 1/2 Torta very small for the price. Red Salsa a little bitter for my taste but the salsa Verde was great.

The Pepito Torta and ONLY Friday Special: Carne Asada Torta were tasty, but there was a comically small amount of meat on both of them. For $19, you would expect a sandwich that wasn't 99% bread. Not worth it at all
