Wings were amzing with the BBQ sauce and the chicken wrap was really good and heavy! A lot of chicken.

• 24-06-06Best chips I think i've ever had! My buffalo chicken burger was hot and fresh, the lettuce was crisp and the flavours were wonderful. Very glad to have discovered this place, bonus that they were able to deliver such terrific service at 2am on a thursday morning too :)

The cute smiley face on the delivery basically means I have to do a proper review, no?
Some context: I've eaten a lot of burgers, some may say I’m a burger-lover, a beef-based aficionado. Most beef burgers in the Melbourne CBD have been tasted, and many more from Brisbane and Sydney too.
Yankee’s Burger Bar - CBD have an absolutely rock solid handle on what they’re in the game to do, make damned good burgers and sides. Which I can say; is in perfect contrast to the soft buns and melt-in your mouth fried sides they serve.
The beef had good flavour to it which is always welcome (and wasn’t overcooked despite being a smashed patty so kudos there) I myself do enjoy pickles and they’re weren’t bad, not also nothing to hail the heavens about either.
The item I got was a cheese loaded double basically and boy it advertised well for it!
Opened it up to see the classic walk-in burger joint; ye-old alfoil wrap.
Some may be turned off at the lack of a classic cardboard clam. But people like that would also be called a fool in some places. Those who know, know. If you’re being served a burger that feels as heavy as a burrito, you should already know why it’s in foil.
Because it’s going to be magnificent.
To wrap up the burger, a solid feed, good cheese and very quick on a late Saturday.
But there was some faults in those stars.
My only singular gripe here was the advertisement of ‘crispy bacon’ now I get it, doing actual crispy bacon on a late night Grill is probably… a little dangerous for lack of a better way to put it; but, if you say you’re putting crispy bacon on a burger I expect to have some crispiness not to be ‘al dente’ this is bacon not pasta. Despite the lack of crispiness, it was incredibly flavourful for your classic late night dirty burger feed.
Now the sides, y’all heard me mention that earlier. I got myself some macaroni bites, and I gotta tell ya I’m mad at myself I didn’t get a second serving, and even more so for not buying jalapeño bites as there are a personal favourite.
These things were borderline perfect. They were beautifully crisp on the outside with a perfect layer of scrummage, and a beautiful smooth inside. I commend Yankees burgers on some phenomenal, deep fry skills.
Overall, a very positive solid feed. We all know who this place is competing against. If you been in Melbourne, you know.
So without saying any names all I’m gonna say is this: these people are currently one of the best burger places in Melbourne they’re not the best; no, not yet. But with a little bit of feedback being taken on board I genuinely think that they could take top spot or at bare minimum remain in a solid second place for years to come.

• 24-01-17the photos are overwhelming misleading the burger was hot, tasty but that's all you forgot the lettuce and the plate full of "popcorn" was 10 cold pieces of chicken nuggets let's call them "POPCONNED" sorry but that's the truth I'm new to food delivery, didn't realise I could have photographed it I should have.
