The family restaurant, Chandala Thai Cuisine, opened in early 2015. We're close to the train station on Martin Luther King Jr. Way, which is only a short walk away.
This is the second worst Thai food of my life. The pad see ew was so sweet it was practically candied, and the pad prik king tasted overwhelmingly of cheap black pepper spice. I paid an extra $5 for additional veggies in the pad see ew and didn't get any. Extra disappointing because this was in the top 20% most expensive Thai places I've ordered from. A huge ripoff.

Bleh. Garlic noodles seemed better suited for an Olive Garden or Applebees. Also was extremely greasy/buttery. Duck curry does not come with rice and had very little duck. Pad see ew was bland and had too much oyster sauce. Egg rolls were good, though. Overall really disappointed especially for the high price point.

Tofu spring rolls were good, but Peanut sauce in the other hand was nearly a solid mass covered by a layer of oil. Did not mix well. Red curry was light on substance, heavy on water. Curry sauce was not a sauce, just liquid. Skimpy on vegetables. Expensive for there not being enough for leftovers.

A truly excellent Thai restaurant. I've tried a sizeable portion of their menu and the quality is consistent and the portions plentiful. If you happen to be by Columbia Station it's worth dining in, but it's great as delivery as well

When this restaurant is good, it's great. The issue for me is inconsistency. Menu items taste vastly different depending on who's cook that day, and the prices for delivery are too high for the gamble. For example, I'veordered tom kha a few times. Sometimes it tastes great and other times it tastes like someone poured a whole bottle of fish sauce into the pot.
