• 8/31/26This was my first impression. Never ate from this restaurant before. I read some reviews that their portions were huge and that you get your money worth. I originally ordered smothered baked chicken but they didn't have baked chicken. So I replaced it with fried chicken. I ordered a extra side of dressing that cost $7. My meal plus delivery & tip was almost $50. The food arrived warm. Rice was ok. Yams were delicious. Chicken was gummy. The dressing was ok, but if you see the portion it looked like a half a scoop of dressing for 7 dollars. No napkins, spoons or folk was added, I had to use what I had at home. In conclusion of my first impressesion. Was it the best soul food I've had? No. Was the food and service so bad that I would recommend no one order from there? No. Food was ok not bad. customer service was cool. I just expect more when you're spending $40 on one plate.

• 6/1/26I ordered the Meatloaf meal with Mac n Cheese and Collard/Cabbage mix with Cornbread.The best thing was the cornbread. The Mac n cheese was dry and tasted sweet, almost taste like red sauce mixed with it, and some sort of spices. The Cabbage mix was sweet. with the same spice in it. The sauce on the Meatloaf, had that same spice and a maple flavor in it. Not sure of what the crunchy things on top of the Meatloaf are? Everything was too sweet and kind of one note on the palate. Couldn't really taste the food item, because of the sweetness and the same spices in all the items. I was very disappointed and felt like I wasted money. Didn't have dinner. I couldn't even give the plate away. Three different people tried it, and neither liked it or wanted it.
