Founded by six-time James Beard Foundation semifinalist Martha Hoover in 2012, Napolese is about artfully made pizza and stone hearth baking. The seasonal menu paired with incredible service makes for…
The truth! Been looking for a good, traditional Italian Margherita for quite some time. This is by far the best on the north side. Won't appeal to most Hoosiers raised on large chain pies, though.
Pizzas are not large, though. But that is not something I was expecting. I really don't go for the 20" cheese explosions.

Pizzas were good as usual, though it should be noted that neoplitans of this style WILL get soggy in the center, especially if they are allowed to sit for more than 10 minutes where the steam renders the crust less structurally sound. The ingredients and flavors are great, and you can pop them in the toaster oven for a few minutes to crisp back up pretty nicely. Just something to keep in mind.
The argula Arugula Salad was kind of disappointing. I've had it in person and it is usually nice - super simple but fresh and generous. Tonight, our salad to-go was literally just semi-soggy arugula and a small little cup of dressing. No fresh grated Parmesan, no lemon wedge. Looked nothing like the picture.. Not worth anything close to $15. Not even $5 to be honest knowing the small amount of soggy arugula received is worth maybe 25 cents. Fortunately I had a block of fresh parmesan and lemons to doctor it up a bit, but it was kind of sad as-is.
Overall I like Napolese but will skip the salad next time to make my own or will just dine in.

Pizza was nearly raw in the center. Oversauced, for once, and the cheese was barely melted. Salad had zero dressing. They never give you enough anyway but to have none was definitely worse. The bread was delicious. Super disappointed in everything else we ordered and paid a ridiculous amount for.

We usually enjoy napolese but this time was an outlier. We had three salads with chicken added and there were about 4 tiny pieces of chicken on each. We also order gluten free Gluten Free Focaccia and it came covered in cheese despite cheese not being listed on the menu. Food was still decent but disappointing to have both of these issues on the same order.

We've been ordering Pepperoni from here for years. Pizza is good but you're stingy with the pepp. Today I paid an extra $4 per pizza to double the pepp. Was not doubled and the cheese was so skimpy on it we thought they forgot it. Come on Napolese. You can afford to do better than this. Really disappointing.
