"Excellent Chicken Biryani (although it was too spicy for me to finish). The spiciness is hardly the restaurant's fault, and I should have requested a milder level of heat. Nevertheless, the dish was obviouly well-prepared and flavorful with a good amount of boneless chicken for the price. I also enjoyed the Daal and Onion Naan . I loved that my food was still hot when it arrived! I will definitely order from Naan n' Curry again!"
"Chicken Tikka Masala tasted stale and had an unusual smell. The Plain Naan and Garlic Naan were overly thin with lots of holes and burnt, appearing as if someone inexperienced had made them. I ordered last week as well and did not enjoy the meal this time."

"Coconut rice paired perfectly with the Chicken Kebat (GF) and it's perfectly spicy!"
"The flavor on the Burma!Burma! Noodle (GFS) just left a lot to be desired. They should keep the fried onions on the side so they're not soggy like mine were when they came. Spice level was okay for spicy I guess. Portion size was very solid. I just don't feel inspired to order from here again. Everyone I was with also felt the same way."

"Mango tofu is loaded with tofu - a substantial dish with a unique flavor. Not too sweet, in a good way. Didn't love the catfish soup, nothing wrong with it, just felt the menu oversold my flavor expectations. Yellow tofu is a unique treat for tofu lovers. "
"Normally Burma superstar is delicious but this time the three entrees came out quick bland. I had to add my own salt, chili crisp, and sriracha. I was also disappointed at the portion of tofu added for $3 to the eggplant. It seemed rather little. I had asked for the Eggplant with Garlic Sauce to be spicy and even though the chili peppers were tossed with it, the spicy flavor didn't seem to emanate to the eggplant. The samosas were good."

"Tastes exactly like Burma Superstar. Garlic noodles w/ pork belly was tasty. Popcorn chicken light and perfectly breaded. Coconut rice paired the chicken well and added a nice sweetness."
"Hmmm. Not sure what happened with Burma bites. The spicy chicken sandwich was very dry, breading falling off, it was definitely not fresh. Oh and burnt was burnt. It would be great if fresh. Spice level was perfect. The green beans were yummy. The garlic noodles were the blandest I've ever tasted. Will not order the garlic noodles again for certain. Portions were nice for the high price."

"This is one of the best restaurants I've ever visited, hands down. I came to visit Oakland for a work trip, and during my stay I found myself coming back to Shooting Star Cafe well over four times in a two day period. Each time I got something different, and every item was delicious, refreshing, and made me want to keep coming back. In particular I loved their lychee sago bowl with mixed fruit, and all of their drinks were exactly what I was hoping for. "
"We had several dishes that were delicious. Pork Spareribs Clay Pot Rice / 㰖角排骨煲仔飯 had great flavors with Bok Choy and bowl full of rice, too much rice. Shredded Pork Pan Fried Noodle / 肉絲煎麵arrived with pan noodles on separate container. Shredded pork could also be great as a soup dish! Combination Meat Chow Mein / 雜錦炒麵was ok nothing special and almost lacked that wholesome flavor for authentic chinese food. Fried Prawns / 炸蝦was cooked perfectly and tasted great! Popcorn Chicken / 鹽酥雞 was seasoned well! Beef Chow Fun / 乾炒牛河 was surprisingly very good with good flavors. Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings / 椒鹽雞中翼 were ok and our least favorite, very oily and arrived soggy. "

"Don't get me wrong in my prior review. My issue is only in the description on the menu and the way in which the new handlers of the restaurant as well as doordash customer service handled the situation. The chicken itself, as well as price, are delicious and reasonable. The chicken is fried, then covered in a wonderful sauce, I actually need jarred. It's tender and juicy and falls right off the bone. It beats KFC down the street. 😋 2days in a row. Worth having everybody 😉20 Stars Hands Down Easily!"
"Egwusi soup and pounded yam is very wholesome and rich and nutritious, and especially delicious! it was eaten before I got a picture, sorry. 😆 Third time I've gotten it, before with fish and then with chicken. Today it was with oxtail, and that's tender and smoky and also tasty. Had some nice fried plantain on the side, those are always good. I'll for sure order here again and recommend the food here to Friends. Thank you!"

"I'm surprised at the negative reviews the portions were appropriate for the price and the injera was really delicious and a good amount. I ordered two portions of injera and had leftovers for two days. The red lentils was really really good 10/10 perfect blend of spices. " I've had the veggie platter at all the restaurants in Berkeley in Oakland area. I think this one might be the best most flavorful one.

"This was so good! This is my second time ordering from them and I must say this is the BEST African food I have EVER tasted! The first time I ordered I got the jollof rice, chicken, vegetables,& plantain ( which usually I won't eat) I cleaned that plate too ! It shocked me that it was a little spicy but that's ok because the flavor was very much present! Even the pounded yam ( FUFU) was good! The first place I ordered I didn't want to eat the fufu ( it wasn't bad but it wasn't like this!) & their Egusi also didn't have as my much flavor! Even my bf liked the Egusi soup and chicken! He's super picky lol. Kinda mad I shared because this was so good! I do wish I got a little more Egusi but that might just be my greedy side talking lol"

"The amount of food I got, for the price I paid? Almost feels like a steal! The food was delicious! Ive never had chicken biryani before and i loved it! A bit spicy, very flavorful and definitely filling! They had whole bone in pieces of chicken so careful when taking a bite. The garlic cheese naan was great too although I personally would have preferred touch bit more cheese. Either way I wasn't actually able to finish my food but that's ok since now I have lunch for tomorrow too! :) I will definitely be ordering from here again!! "

"Absolutely loved this place! It’s family-owned and you can taste the love and care in every bite. The food was incredibly fresh, and the flavors—just wow. The chicken came with a spicy sauce that was an absolute explosion of flavor, the kind that lingers in the best way. The naan was perfectly soft and buttery, great for scooping up all the extra sauce from the generous Chicken Tikka Masala, which was rich, creamy, and easily enough to satisfy two people. This is the kind of spot that makes you want to come back again and again. Highly recommend! Even spoke with owners daughter to share how amazing it was! Thank you! "

"This was my first time not only trying Filipino food, but also food from this restaurant. It was definitely a hit for me with both the Pancit Bihon w/ Chicken and Shanghai Lumpia (Chicken). Both were large, generous portions, to the point where I was not even able to finish it. I especially loved the Shanghai Lumpia (Chicken) which wwte just the right size and really smooth and easy to go down. A really tasty treat. For the Pancit Bihon w/ Chicken, while also really great, I wish it had a little more spice to it, just a little kick or something. I understand that's how it's made, so I ended up adding some crushed trees pepper to it (that I happed to have). I may use another hot sauce next time just to help bring out more of the flavor. But overall, I really liked it and will be ordering again from here with no hesitation!"

"we ordered the Shahi Paneer Pizza & added the red chicken to it. on our order, we selected a specific sauce, but did not receive that sauce on the pizza.
instead it was garlic.
we like garlic, so it was fine.
however...
it did kind of taste like gourmet garlic bread, instead of a moist pizza.
we both agree it felt like it was missing a sauce.
the flavors were really good.
very interesting to have it in a pizza form.
even with our minor complaints, we would still order again. but only as a break to our normal pizza spot, because it is expensive. we ordered a large and it was about $55.
its about the size of a hot and ready.
but the quality is much better.
the chicken was real chicken.
the onions seemed fresh.
and the paneer was good.
we give this experience a 3½ out of 5 stars. knocking half a point because of price/size and a full point off because its lacking sauce.
I would also say that we would appreciate it if the restaurant would allow for notes under the orders."

The oxtails came with only three small pieces and needed more flavor—some salt, garlic powder, or onion powder would help. My sides were mac and cheese and yams, but the to-go compartments weren’t filled, so the portions felt small for $52.
Overall, I’d get Combo 4 again, especially for the shrimp!"

"First time trying Spice I am. The BBQ Lemongrass Chicken Fried Rice and Fresh Tofu Rolls were great but the Roti was quite oily and the curry sauce with it, didn't really taste like much compared to how well seasoned the BBQ Lemongrass Chicken Fried Rice was. I'll give it another try in the future! It was great portion sizes and the prices were great!"

"Loved the adobo! Very different than any other adobo I've had without the hard boiled egg and with coconut milk in the broth but it was very delicious! The lechon kawali also remained quite crispy so that was a big okie! The pancit and lumpia were good."
"I really wanted to give 5 stars because I'm Filipino and want to support a Filipino establishment! But that would be dishonest. Overall, overpriced for the taste and the portion sizes. Lechon Kawali was bone dry and one-note. Doesn't tickle the palate, doesn't taste like home. Same thing with the Pancit . Dry, bland, noodles congealed together. Not moreish, not exciting. Tastes and feels like routinr
Halo Halo is the only dish they got right for us this evening, but they didn't cover it properly, so so much of it was exposed to goodness knows what.
I was wondering why a resto with a Michelin citation only got a few ratings on DD (implying fewer customers wanting to leave praise). I get it now, the dishes + price combo don't encourage repeat orders. I do hope they improve these in the near future"

"I recently tried the Chicken Momo lapping and Khana set at 4 Dreams Nepal I & Indian Cuisine, and it was a great experience overall.
The Chicken Momo lapping was the highlight. The momos were soft, juicy, and well stuffed with flavorful minced chicken. The “lapping” style, covered in a rich, slightly spicy sesame based sauce, added a creamy and tangy kick that made the dish stand out. The sauce was balanced not too spicy, but enough to give a nice warmth. The portion size was generous and perfect for sharing, although I could easily finish it myself because it was that good.
The Khana set felt like a complete and comforting meal. It came with rice, dal, vegetable curry, chicken curry, achar, and salad. The rice was fresh and fluffy. The dal was simple yet comforting, with a homestyle Nepali flavor. The chicken curry was tender and well cooked, with spices blended nicely without being overpowering. The achar added the perfect spicy and tangy contrast to the meal. Everything tasted fresh and authentic, just like traditional Nepali home cooking.
The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Overall, I would definitely recommend 4 Dreams Nepal I & Indian Cuisine for anyone craving authentic Nepali and Indian food, especially their Chicken Momo lapping and Khana set. I will definitely be going back again."
"The Dahl Tadka tasted like thickened grease fat from the bottom of the pan, like you would use to make buskits and gravy. It had no flavor other than fat and salt. I ordered two in hopes that it would be great, but couldn't eat either of them.
I have never had such an experience with any Indian Dahl dish before .
The soup was very tasty and the broth flavorful. I hoped to have it mild as I was recovering from surgery and was supposed to avoid spicy food. I'll order the soup again when I'm feeling better"

"Wow! We've had some pretty subpar Indian on Door Dash and this is by far the best Indian food I've had in a long time! I called to ask if they could make the Aloo Gobi extra spicy and it was perfect. The Samosa Chaat was a perfect blend of spicy and sweet and the Chicken Tikka Masala was everything you'd want it to be.
The portions were smaller than expected, but I would much rather have quality over quantity. Will happily be ordering again! "

"I ordered more than I could possibly eat in one sitting! The Vada (3 pieces) were very fresh and fluffy, had to put the Samosa (3 pieces) off for tomorrow but they looked great too. "Wow! Really good food, my whole family loved it. Grilled Skewers with Jaew Sauce were super tender (we got the pork), Pad Thai was good... maybe a touch sweet. Our favorite item was the Pad Kapow Basil with Rice with chicken. Really flavorful and a nice contrast to the sweetness of other items. The kids liked the Fried Corn Fritters with S&S Sauce 🥦"
"Rose La Moon serves Thai food that is solidly above average by the standards of food served in Bangkok. Like it's actually better than most Thai food served in Thailand. Always fresh, the deep fried stuff is mostly gluten free, and we don't order Thai food from anyone else anymore. Portion sizes are pretty standard. "Absolutely incredible flavor on the tandoori fish and the wings (5-6) that were also tandoori flavor. "
"The food was very good, especially the Lahori chickpeas and onion naan. I used to visit the now-closed Bismillah in San Pablo and read that this was the same group. It’s not exactly the same, though I preferred the naan and chickpeas here.
The lamb chops were overcooked and missing their rice. The Chicken Tikka Masala sauce was excellent. The medium spice needed more heat. but not enough to warrant ordering spicy. The San Pablo Bismallah doesn't give a choice but it was always perfect for my taste. if I go in and order that may be something I can work out. not their fault. My biggest issue was the yogurt-like coating on the meat, which changed the texture and reduced the tandoori char. I preferred the chicken at the old Bismillah.
The shop is great, with a fresh meat counter, good products, and lovely staff. I’d return, but may order different meat dishes."

"The presentation from this restaurant was absolutely amazing. Even though I had takeout, they still took their time with how the food was presented. I wish I had taken a picture before I started eating. Speaking of eating, I thoroughly enjoyed the Basil Eggplant / ผัดมะเขือยาว and really loved that they put the rice in the same container as the sauce. It made it so much easier to mix the sauce into the rice as opposed to trying to pour it onto the rice in another container. Very practical and again, very tasty. Only thing was the tofu was a little hard and dry at times. Loved the green beans which was crispy and well proportioned. I liked the Summer Roll / ปอเปี๊ยะสด to a degree, but it was a lot. And I wasn't a fan of the sauces it came with. I went with the peanut one as it was less tangy than the other sauce. Overall, this being my first time trying Nua, I was happy with my purchases. I look forward to actually trying them in person, holey sooner rather than later."
