Months ago, we used to order their Spaghetti Alla Carbonara frequently. However, we got very disappointed after trying it again today.
Their sauce has no taste, which makes me think they don't use much parmesan. They also add garlic to the recipe, which is not expected in a Carbonara. They're aware of that since garlic is not even listed in their description of the item.
They also claim to use "fried salt-cured pork meat" but it just tastes like a spongy bacon. Not close to guanciale neither pancetta.
I wouldn't mind if they wanted to make a cheap pseudo-carbonara and sell it for a reasonable price, but calling it a "traditional dish from Rome" and charging people 25.99 for that is a ripoff.
You can definitely get an authentic Carbonara in the same price range in other places such as Di Beppe or Robba da Matti. Italian Kitchen is not as good as those but definitely a better option.
