I love Yokozuna! If I'm craving sushi, there's NO question where to go. My favorite is the Hot Mess, it's spicy, a bit crunchy and the flavor is ON POINT! I also love ther Roasted Pork Spring Rolls. They are utterly delicious! Yokozuna is a MUST TRY!

The miso soup tastes great, as always, but I'm mildly disappointed in the roll and how it's fallen apart upon arrival! There isn't even enough rice around the roll. Obviously, I am going to eat it (and I'm positive it will be great) but come on yoko chefs! What the heck?! Lol!

I order this exact meal several times a week from the South Tulsa location (when I am at work). THIS order from Yokozuna Downtown is a ripoff. The salmon portions are HALF the size I normally receive, there is no veggie garnish & a speck of wasabi. This is not about the quality - it is about a half portion for $19.95. The add ins for the soup were packaged OVER A WEEK AGO.

I've lived and worked in Japan for many years and am a bit of a sushi snob. It can be challenging finding good sushi in Oklahoma (a statement that would have sounded ludicrous thirty years ago, like saying "I had a hard time growing strawberries in Greenland.") But I have to say that Yokozuna has really impressed me.
They have some very good sushi indeed. The fish and other ingredients are very fresh and tasty but the rice! Rice is the most importanti ingredient in sushi and theirs tastes like koshihikari, tsuyahime or another type of A+ grade sushi rice. These can be hard to get in major cities outside of Japan, much less little ol' Tulsa.
They may not have the fancier or more exotic toppings like toro, whelk or pufferfish. (Told you I was a snob.) But a lot of these are definitely acquired tastes and pufferfish can even kill you if prepared improperly. But the combos are fun with a local flavor and they nail the fundamentals of good sushi.
And given the quality, their prices are very reasonable in a trade where $50 for two pieces isn't uncommon.
Hats off to Yokozuna and their chefs. I think we'll be coming back a lot. You don't have a frequent buyers card, do you?

Yoko never disappoints. The Steamed Buns always hit the spot. The sunrise Rising Sun Roll is a very unique sweet sushi roll that I can never resist when I order from here. I highly recommend trying it!
