Not enough sauce for the big platter, but super good, aromatics and seasoning are 10/10. Needs a little more rice to compensate for the meats and veggies. Fries are nice crispy brown wedges, falafels are good for the price.

Chicken was really nicely seasoned & the plates come in large portions! Spicy sauce had a KICK to it & the tzatziki was light but flavorful - a really great combo to drizzle on the whole plate! I didn't know that the plates came with sauces, so I ordered an additional two (2) 2oz tzatziki sauces, which were only about half full, compared to the sauce that came with the plate. BOGO deal was a great value & I would definitely order again.

I was really looking forward to trying Hala Express because my family and I love Mediterranean food and have enjoyed it at many other restaurants. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we’ve had.
The lamb tikka was so spicy that it was inedible. The rice was overcooked and burnt, the vegetables were undercooked, and overall the food lacked flavor. Considering how much we paid, we expected a much higher quality meal.
What made the experience even worse was the customer service. I called the restaurant simply to let them know how disappointed we were. Rather than apologizing or showing any concern, the manager responded by saying it wasn’t his fault and came across as rude. I had already received a refund through DoorDash, so I wasn’t calling to ask for money back—I just wanted the restaurant to be aware of our experience in the hope that they would take the feedback seriously.
Sadly, the food and the way our concerns were handled left a very negative impression. There are plenty of other Mediterranean restaurants that serve much better food and provide far better customer service. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend spending your time or money here.

One of the best afghan spots in San Jose. My friend recommended NY style chicken and rice plate. Absolutely delicious. Although the chicken looked vibrant and spicy, it turned out to be juicy and savory. Their hummus plate is also very good and it includes 4 falafels too. Falafels are crispy and well seasoned.

Food was outstanding. Went for #4 (7-8 person combo) and the rice, fresh salad, and kabobs were all very high quality. Also order Bolani (Potato and Green Onion) all veggie. Tzaziki is top notch. The red sauce is a bit in the spicy side so be warned, but definitely was appreciated too.
