"Took a chance and tried this nice establishment, as we were in the mood for some righteous Chow Mein and Chow Fun.
It's hard to find proper Cantonese versions of both. Chow Mein is normally merely passable, with the horrid lo mein noodles raking up space in my gullet.
I was pleasantly surprised by the "craftsmanship" of both. very "wok-hei" when it arrived. Flavor was nostalgic, of SF Chinatown and the old-time Bay Area style of cooking .
The veggies were not my fave, stringy and a bit chewy, but that's ok. I just ate more noodles.
Sometimes I judge a Chinese restaurant by their tomato egg over rice dish. Not bad. A little salty, but it's ok, I just ate more noodles.
Overall, well done, Top Cafe. We'll be back.

Kung Pow Chicken: chicken was the breaded freezer kind, no veggies. I had hoped the flat noodles would have been like a chowfun, but the noodles' flavor was not appealing.

-The rice was half filled and was just 'ok.'
-The Steamed Custard Buns (3 Pc) are missing most of the custard lol.
I have to take the blame. I should have remember that STEAM's quality has gone far down below their usual level of food.
--They gave me a little packet of mediocre sriracha hot sauce (nasty), instead of their amazing red chili oil.
-They did provide a slim packet of soy sauce, I don't mind because I didn't ask for it. Last time I paid for extra and got squat.
I will make a note on my brain not to order again. Don't waste your money! Their food was far better in person - this is not worth all the $$$.

"I apparently am not a fan of dumplings. i tried the XLB Combo, was not able to eat it all. the dumplings did have juices inside which was something new to me. Why I couldn't finish it was due to the unique flaover of each one. As I have had dumplings and Kimchi where there was no juices inside. Sesame Balls were good, but came covered with oil. and were quite filling. I also tried their Edamame; it came well seasoned. If you cannot handle spicy things I would stay away. Edamame also was covered/cooked in oil which made it a bit messy."

"Oh my god, not gonna lie.. I haven't had chinese food this good since I was a kid. The place I used to go to as a kid closed and it was so hard to find another alternative. I got the three entrees, with fried rice and it was so good! Orange chicken, broccoli beef and the beef with greens is so bomb.
