Kovai Kitchen brings the authentic flavors of South India to your table. From freshly made dosas and comforting curd rice to flavorful paneer curries and festive street-style favorites, every dish is …
I like the food taste and the dishes here. The only problem is food packaging quality, the Sambar needs to be cooled a bit before being poured into the containers. The plastic container melts before it's delivered.

Pav Bhaji (2 Pav + 8 oz Bhaji + Onion) is good.
Paneer Butter Masala Has very less paneer and only gravy. Not sure why it is priced higher when compared to other curries if you are serving without paneer in it.

One of the worst and most pathetic South Indian food experiences ever!
We ordered lunch from Kovai Kitchen on Sunday. Since we were away from home and craving some close-to-heart, comforting South Indian food, we actually ordered extra thinking we could keep it and eat the next day.
What a HUGE disappointment!
The Kootu and Sambar were so similar that we literally spent about 15 minutes trying to figure out which was which! There was hardly any difference in taste or appearance.
The Rasam was basically a 16oz container of floating oil, with barely any room for the actual rasam to even be seen. I have never seen anything like it.
The Beetroot Poriyal was completely drowned in coconut oil.
The curd rice was dry, with no trace of yogurt whatsoever. And the buttermilk? It felt like we were drinking saline water — it was THAT salty!
The vegetable kurma was an absolute farce. There wasn’t a single piece of vegetable in it! I genuinely don’t understand how they have the conscience to prepare and sell food of this quality — and charge a bomb for it!
Then came the potato masala, which was nothing but turmeric-laden smashed potatoes with no seasoning, no flavor, barely any salt and absolutely no taste. Completely tasteless to the core.
And to top it all off, they have a picture of rotis, but sent us pav instead. We were also charged for two plates and received only one. They took my number saying they would refund the difference. Well… ha ha! Still waiting. No response whatsoever!
This was a big chunk of a bill that was quite literally flushed down the drain, because we had to sadly throw away most of the food. It simply wasn’t edible at any cost.
And honestly, I feel sad seeing how confidently people sell such low-grade Indian food and charge customers a premium for it.
Come on! How difficult is it to make a good curd rice?
Being a chef myself, I understand and genuinely value food and the hard work that goes behind preparing it. I have tremendous respect for anyone who cooks for others, and I know not every dish will suit everyone’s taste.
But this was far beyond that.
When almost every single item is mediocre, poorly prepared, lacking in basic seasoning, and in some cases practically inedible, it becomes very difficult to understand how such food is being served to customers with such confidence.
What disappoints me most is that we were simply looking for some good, comforting South Indian food while being away from home. Instead, we ended up wasting a substantial amount of money and throwing away most of what we ordered.
Extremely disappointing. I honestly cannot recommend this place based on our experience.

The dosa was not cooked on the inside. The taste of ghee was horrible. Regular water would be thicker than the coconut chutney. The sambar (watery) and whatever the other chatney tasted flavorless. Perhaps because the pictures looked good and I had high expectations for Clifton a South Indian restaurant.
The dasher did not follow instructions- put food ON the chair.
