The Eggplant Rollatini (Dinner) was so incredibly delicious last week that got it again last night with a White Slice and Zeppole with Cannoli Cream with an extra Zeppole and it was amazing. The entree comes with 3 eggplants rolled with just the right amount of spinach and a lot of cheeses ricotta and mozzarella that is real cheese not stretchy stuff . Plus a ton of spaghetti and a nice side salad with tomatoes , cucumber and red onion. I think it's a choice of dressing but the Greek is perfect I had Italian last week so thought I'd switch something up bc I wasn't switching the eggplant it's my favorite dish and La Pizza Nostra does it perfectly at a great price , which I thought was an error last time with salad and pasta thought maybe I better get pasta just in case but no it was there again .
The only thing I wish, and trust me I'm Not complaining at all bc I love spaghetti , but I'd order it every single week ( every day maybe ) if it had pasta options like penne or rotini and especially if there was an option for extra gravy ( sauce in Naples I guess bc grandma said so ) . It would probably take longer need more space or something like it's there already and I missed it but I mean on the options and not free , just Extra , optional .. it's a way to order the same dish with different looks to add variety , so you feel good abt being an eggplant lover or never moving past combo 1 at Chinese ..
I like take out to be at least as good as I can cook or it's not a night off so why would I change a good thing to a iffy hot pepper or peanut butter I don't know Chinese I know 1 is good tho . Eggplant either gets bad rap .. yuk how can you eat that so much what is it? .. well if you look at it like an egg thing you think yuk but it's probably shaped like an egg from a different kind of bird , i don't know ? maybe tetradactyl eggs look like a purple orb , call it orb plant , oval plant, odd shaped fruit of a green vine , whatever it's a noodle without having to boil a pound of lasagna lay them all around to stop sticking or cook raw n you have eh so so lasagna with too much starch and never the right taste bc you can't put the salt in unless it's boiled ok ..
the no bake noodles taste like the any pasta on lunch trays in 3rd grade or any frozen 1.99 lasagna with weird cheese , it's just sadness in a dish that's not enough for 1/2 a snack .
So if you had options to vary the rollatini dinner and make it seem less like last weeks dinner it would prevent negative comments about the eggplant eww and how can you eat that or are you vegan now ? Why would you eat that and not lasagna .. that rolls ..,
yep but it's pasta n that's good but it's not my favorite , pasta is my second favorite followed by pizza and bread with extra gravy ( sauce ) followed by canolli cream with or without the next favorite thing , Zeppole (1) and not here til last night ( funnel cake doesn't count) usually I've had them in a brown bag full of powdered sugar in nyc or in anything from la pizza nostra bc it's the only place i e seen zeppoles in Florida , only those funnel cakes and the taste is different bc the shape makes a difference
And
that's why the pasta options will need extra sauce options because some kinds of pasta need more gravy ( sauce ) bc they have more space .. it's physics and I don't do that calculation .. I only know bc my grandma said this pasta sucks up gravy more then this one does ..
And since birth I've contemplated the concept and possible reasons and determined it's physics .. and I don't care to calculate it I just wanted to compare the theory to let you figure out how much you need to add if you had pasta options with the dish I love ..
I just know I wish there was more sauce always so if you can do the math or not for penne vs rotini or just use the little cups, like 1 or 2 of the condiment cups and I can figure the rest out ! I'd get 3 just in case bc I don't like math esp not on a night off ..
then I can order the same thing but no one would care it's eggplant again bc of different options .. it can be the same dish now it's about the pasta , meatballs or the extra slice , grandma's or white ( add regular please , but I can get a pie one day bc sometimes I order when my husband is home for dinner and not only to eat my zeppoles with cannoli cream ... I told him about them on phone before I passed out but who knew he'd eat them all .. ?
I knew but you know after the cheesy eggplant , spaghetti and white on white pizza I didn't think I'd ever eat anything again anyway it was turning into sugar or something , seriously knocked me out ..
so i'm going to order more Zeppole with Cannoli Cream if I ever finish this review . I forgot to take the photo because I couldn't wait to eat and then it wasn't perfect after the missing pasta and half the cheese off the top of the slice .. I can't believe you do slices and one zeppole is ok
I never had that option of 1 zeppole I think 6 or 10 ? in nyc in the 70s .. whatever fit in a brown bag which is cool bc you can shake it and get more sugar on all the grease so it's not just grease now it's good sweet grease ..
I wish you had Zeppole (1) in paper bags too but I think I might be asking too much .. I know I'm saying too much but the instructions say that my fellow customers would appreciate the details. Ok I think I used all the words so I'll say more when there's options I can discuss and definitely if my next order of Zeppole ( 6 or 10 ? ) come in a brown paper bag with powdered sugar .. I think 12 wouldn't have fit to shake idk tho maybe you eat 3 first , ok 12 then
if I had a small paper bag I swear I would have shaken them in powdered sugar but I only got 1 plain and the cannoli Zeppole with Cannoli Cream deserve a pastry box with red and white string not a bag bc that would be messy .

Like yours or any I can remember, not in the Bronx , nyc, li or anywhere here and my husband either , he might stop by to pick some up , he raved about them last night this am and I'm here to find your address for him an hour ago .. I realize. I forgot the photo and review so now here's 2 , one for last week and last nights so good dinner that will be lunch soon with if I stop writing and order them or give your address to someone who breaks for sugar especially cannoli cream his mom makes his birthday cake with cannoli cream every year on Christmas bc he's spoiled and loves it a lot but never raved abt any I made like his moms or your Zeppole with Cannoli Cream .. try it it's the best thing I hear
.. I bet bc a small amount he left spread on the regular zeppoli he left me was amazing at 2 am helped me wash the pot I would have avoided if I saw extra gravy ( sauce ) options :)
My husband loved the Zeppole with Cannoli Cream when he got home. I was so full I couldn't get to them fast enough so I got the regular Zeppole and the leftover cream which was enough to know I need more soon . Now it's detailed :)
