Would not order again. Flavorless. Not a good representation of what good Guatemalan food tastes like. Here is a breakdown of what I ordered:
-Breakfast Plate: the eggs were overdone, the beans tasted completely flavorless and the whole dish was made with no love
-Pollo Guisado: the rice was mushy, the chicken was bland
-Rellenitos: I LOVE rellenitos, and I've had them from other places.... the rellenitos order came with ONE rellenito. For that price and quality? It should come with an order of 3. Not worth it.
-Hot Chocolate: it's hot chocolate. Should've simple to knock out the park. And yet this was like 50% milk, 49% water, and 1% chocolate taste.
-Atole de Elote: what in the world IS the atole de elote from here? Any atole de elote from the ladies in LA or any other Guatemalan food spots, the atole has a rich flavor and consistency, and there is corn throughout the drink, it's warm and inviting. The atole de elote from this place had ONE corn kernel floating at the top, and the consistency was watery and the flavor tasted more like a watered down atole de platano. Tasted it, could not drink it. Just wow.
-Arroz con Leche: Okay if you're Hispanic, you know arroz con Lethe is literally rice with milk, and it's a sweet comforting drink with a cinnamon flavor and tastes delicious. They literally sent a cup of milk with no rice and no flavor. How is this even remotely arroz con leche? And you know that in good arroz con leche, even just the milk has a good taste you can sip on.... the drink they provided didn't even have that. Could not drink. A waste.
-Horchata: not bad, not noteworthy, run of the mill horchata. You can't find better.
Overall: I give this place a 2/10 simply because I ate the food and it was edible. But this place has NO flavor. I would rather recommend "La Guatemalteca" or "Mucha! Comida Chapina".
Especially considering we got simple, traditional items, this place was wildly disappointing.
