Absolutely fire! Best katsu in Austin! The hand rolls are like little sushi burritos, they were very fresh and delicious. Their sauces and the miso butter were wonderful as well. I was just visiting town, but I'd make the trip out here again for sure!

The "Max" in Max's Fusion & Bar must stand for MAXIMUM flavor! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to be satisfied by their meal in every way. I especially enjoy the texture of the Katsu Chicken Baos (2 pcs). Some people might say they include too much cucumber on the side but not me - I can't get enough. It is a crisp and fresh bonus treat that perfectly balances the saltiness of the Pork & Veggie Pot Sticker. The presentation and packaging for delivery was impeccable. If I could say one word to Max it would be "Never Change." I might order it again tonight if I'm feeling crazy. Thanks.

Chicken Katsu was very crispy and well seasoned. I appreciated how they packed the sauces separated so they didn't make the chicken soggy. The sauces and toppings went well with the dishes. I think the bao bun itself was more chewy and gummy than soft and fluffy. The salmon maki hand roll was pretty solid too; fish tasted fresh, well seasoned, and there was a good balance of rice to fish, the portion size for the hand roll was pretty small tho for the price. The strawberry limeade was soooo refreshing.

We usually love Max's and order takeout from them often. Today they did not offer the spicy ponzu sauce (our go-to), and the hand rolls came STUFFED with rice. Like, an unreasonable amount of rice. The balance of the roll was totally off, and they weren't pleasant to eat. Hopefully this was a one-time thing and not full scale changes. We'll be wary if we try again.

I got the Katsu Chicken Bento Box and the Spicy Crunchy Hand Roll. The hand roll was packed very thick which was not what I expected with a traditional hand roll which are typically smaller and bite size. It was so packed that it felt gross to eat. The chicken was decent but again huge pieces of meat that didn't look like they were cooked properly bcs of the thickness. Just didn't seem like it was made with care or quality in mind.
