This is the best option for Soulfood in Springfield. The collard greens, sweet potatoes, and fried cabbage are unmatched.

Had to order more cabbage for Christmas Eve, as a FIRE side dish. It wont let me spell check my last review, so quick recap. LOVE the fried potatoes and cabbage, both perfection to a foodie. Cornbread moist and good, but small portion. Fish is decent enough and tastes fresh, same as chicken. Brown beans and ham would have been better served with large hunk of the moist cornbread to balance the salt, but still very flavorful, and filling. Greens another side I got today, as super delish to round out our seafood feast from our favorite higher end dining fave establishment= happy husband and wife!

I was so excited to try, as had been suing the sae soul food place for two years. My hats off to the chef of the fried cabbage, best I have had since a kid, many moons ago when my grand made. The rest was more basic but still yummy. 3 piece chicken, decent, tiny drumstick, the sweet potato side was wonderful, good flavor and fresh, the cornbread an issue, as a side but tiny again. Am used to it coming with the meal, so may want to think about that, and they when added to meal, upcharge then. The brown beans a decent portion, but the fried potatoes stole their thunder, best I had in years again. Next order cabbage and potatoes! Packaging was good, appreciated, no spills etc. Solid 4.5

Today a mixed bag. 2.5. A lot of heavy seasoning on all items but fish, thank goodness, as the fish finally perfect. Chicken small, standard with plenty of fried potatoes. The Spaghetti had heat to it, as if perhaps hot sauce added, and not as good honestly. Ordered black eyes peas but got brown beans, a let down, as theirs are a bit over salted for my mate. Love their fried cabbage, but ordered a large and got a small side (thank you DD for taking care of)-third time on that side issue so hopefully they find a way to solve. Finally a piece of cornbread, or even roll, would be great when ordering the meals, as would round out far better.

Very well cooked fried chicken breast and leg. Juicy, perfectly done. The breast was extremely salty. The leg was also somewhat salty. Extremely unusual for me to complain about something having too much salt. My side item was the wrong one, perhaps substituted. Green beans were okay.
