I have always craved Raku udon, and this time, I wanted a simple and light udon soup base. Toriten Udon is perfect when you do not want a heavy soup feeling and comes with the right amount of protein with their famous fried chicken. Although it was for to-go, the noodle was tangy and yummy.

First the Iced Barley Tea was cancelled (it was refunded, fine). What I can't forgive however is that the Salmon Oshizushi arrived hot, which I assume was from being stacked with Pork Gyoza, and not because it's meant to be served with hot rice and salmon cooked through. I had to check that the Pork Gyoza were actually pork and not veggie because the were so bland. The textures of the Seaweed Salada were interesting but the flavor again was bland-- the dressing tasted of wasabi and nothing else. For $70 plus tip I was hoping for much better service. I will not be ordering again.

I love all their Udon dishes. The sushi is great, as well. Prefer to dine in but if you want to enjoy at home, pre-order in advance as they take a bit longer.

Got the Gyunan Udon and Nameko Udon that came in perfect packaging and tastes just like in store in the downtown location!

Compared to my previous order, the amount of toppings was unusually small this time. It felt like poor value for the price.
I also requested utensils and condiments, but they were not included.
