Another delicious and perfect order from Olive Tree Cafe!!! For lunch, we decided to go with Mediterranean Hot Dog, Hummus, Bottled Water, and for dessert, Baklava 2 Pieces and Turkish & Arab Coffee! Note that there's only one hot dog in the photo-they smelled so incredible, I had to have one before I remembered to take a photo. Now that we're finished, I can safely say that this is the food of the gods!! The Mediterranean Hot Dog has a light, crispy outside on the pastry, while the inside of the pastry is light and fluffy and warm! The hot dog itself has the perfect snap, and inside is perfectly cooked-a plump, juicy dog that the pastry soaks up and makes your next bit better than the last!!! A masterpiece!!
We've previously had the Hummus, and it's a house staple from Olive Tree-we've never bought hummus from anywhere else since we've tried theirs. Smooth, fine-textured, with a bright flavor profile, served with warm pita that stays warm throughout the delivery and the meal, even when it's 30 degrees and raining out!!! There's always so much, we save it and munch on it for days, and this hummus is no different!! We'll be eating this for several days, and it only gets better as you refrigerate it and the flavors mingle!!
The Baklava 2 Pieces is so perfect. The nuts are plentiful, the layers of pastry uniform and delightful, with that satisfying crunch that only comes with good baklava!!! Sweet on its own, it's topped with a bit of honey that puts it over the top!!
This is my first time trying the Turkish & Arab Coffee, and I was thrilled with the beauty of the flavor profile. It's good and strong, and it's got an unmistakable warmth, this earthy taste that I've never had in coffee or espresso, and I can't wait to have again! The spices are lovely and it compliments the baklava in the best way!!!
I'm always extremely happy with Olive Tree Cafe, and feel proud that this wonderful restaurant is available in our city!!! They're the jewel of downtown!!! It's always perfect-give them a try and become as addicted as I am!!!
