Growing up on the Oregon coast, I've never heard of charging for batter. The prices seem extreme, and I think it's sad. It's sad because we spent almost $40 for one order of "lightly" battered fish n chips, coleslaw and a cup of clam chowder.
I won't get express my disappointment on the clam chowder, I forget it's a gluten free cart I believe, maybe that's the issue. It is a very small cup of chowder for ten dollars. We did not end up eating it. I rarely pay $10 for clam chowder in Cannon Beach at a restaurant with table service, besides paying $10 from a food cart in the middle of town. It was gummy and bland. Don't do it..."

"This was the first place we ever ordered a seafood boil from in the Portland/Gresham area a few years ago. "All the food was amazing! Great sashimi and rolls. My son loved the chicken teriyaki. My only issue with the tempura was the serving. 1 serving of tempura= 2 pieces of carrot, 1 onion ring and 2 shrimp for $6. I would rather have 1 shrinp and more veggies like broccoli, zucchini and sweet potatoes."

The California Roll was fantastic and at 8 pieces per roll the portion felt generous - and any place that has good Salmon Roe / Ikura is worthy of my loyalty, it's very hard to find places that sell more than smelt/flying fish roe, which is significantly cheaper but significantly lower quality. I also got a free soup and salad with my order I wasn't expecting; the soup was quite flavorful and delicious (even if it was mostly broth) and the salad was nothing special but it has a tasty dressing and was the best price - free!
I will absolutely order from Sushi Kata again, my expectations based on the very reasonable prices were exceeded. My new go-to sushi place."
