"We ordered the lamb shank and the chenjej kabob with salads. The typical salad was great but the Shirazi salad was just chopped tomatoes and cucumber with no seasoning, no olive oil. The lamb shank was very small and mostly fat, again no seasoning. Sadly, the Chenjeh kabob was so overcooked and dry with no seasoning, I don't think even salt. It came in a big container with 8 small scattered pieces of meat- looked a bit sad. We had eaten at Alborz in probably 2013 and enjoyed it, not so much now. We are fans of Persian food. I don't know what went wrong tonight but would never order again, unfortunately."

"I am kinda disappointed of this place. Before ordering, I read the reviews and looked at previous photos, where the portions seemed much more generous, especially the Chop Chop Basil.
I ordered the Chop Chop Basil with an additional portion of rice and an extra fried egg, hoping to split it into two meals. Based on previous customer photos, I expected the meat to fill the entire black container, with the rice and egg that come with the dish packed separately. However, the portion I received was clearly much smaller—less than half of what was shown in some of the previous reviews. The flavor It self was very good, just a little too salty, but mixing it with the Jasmine Rice balances it off.
I also ordered the tom kha Tom KHA Soup, which is one of my favorite Thai soups, but unfortunately it was quite watery and not as flavorful as I expected.
Overall, I wouldn’t say the food was bad, especially for the price, but between the smaller portions and the lack of flavor in the soup, I probably wouldn’t order from this place again.."

The Bo kho soup was much looser, more like a broth than a stew like we're used to, but it was still very tasty. I loved that the bun Bo hue came with pork hocks. I can't find that anywhere in DC. Also loved that it's not too spicy. "My family and I have been going to Sunflower for 6+ years. We are huge fans and love the food. Our go-tos are the general tso, crispy happiness, sweet potato pancakes and lo mein.
It is with a heavy heart that I have to share that this past experience was not good. We were coming back from a long drive and decided to pick up food with DoorDash. To provide context, we have ordered the food from DoorDash numerous times in the past and have never experienced issues with the quality of the food.
When we arrived home, we were excited to eat but were all extremely disappointed. The flavor of the general tso was off and extremely soggy. The crispy happiness was not crispy at all. The lo mein also did not taste good. Unfortunately, the items did not taste fresh and had a strange odor to them. The only redeeming items were the sweet potato pancakes. We were unable to finish the food which is unusual for us.
We are unsure if we will return due to this experience."
