Recently, I had an experience at Panera Bread that left me somewhat disappointed and compelled to share my thoughts. I opted for a salad and a macaroni and cheese bowl, expecting the usual quality I associate with Panera. Unfortunately, this time fell short of those expectations.
Firstly, the salad was notably lacking in both lettuce and ingredients. It felt like I was served a mere semblance of what a hearty salad should be. The sparse greens and limited toppings left me wanting more, and I couldn't help but feel like I didn't get my money's worth. The freshness and vibrancy I usually associate with Panera's salads seemed to be lacking.
To add to the disappointment, the macaroni and cheese bowl, which I ordered in the bread bowl for an extra indulgent experience, barely filled a third of the container. It was disheartening to see such a noticeable gap between the macaroni and the brim of the bread bowl. This not only affected the overall value of the meal but also left me feeling like I had been shortchanged in terms of portion size.
I understand that variations can occur in food preparation, but this experience seemed to go beyond that. It raises concerns about consistency and quality control in Panera's kitchen. When patrons choose a particular dish, they anticipate a certain standard, and unfortunately, this time, that standard wasn't met.
I genuinely hope that Panera Bread takes customer feedback seriously, as it's an invaluable tool for improvement. Addressing issues such as portion control and ingredient distribution can only enhance the overall dining experience for customers. I believe in the potential for Panera to rectify these shortcomings and maintain its reputation for providing delicious and satisfying meals.

The steep decline in quality is noticeable.
There was a time when Panera's competitive advantage was fresh, tasty, healthy food at a mid-tier price point. Portions have always been small, but the food was consistently good . Our meal today showed how much this chain has strayed from their previous standards.
The Spicy Chicken Sandwich was worse than something you'd get at a low tier fast-food restaurant like McDonalds. It was rubbery like it had been boiled, and the bun tasted like a KFC side roll. The Green Goddess Caprese Melt was haphazardly spread mayonnaise with tasteless tomatoes with soggy greens. All the bread had the consistency and flavor profile of packing peanuts.
Good bye, Panera. We will not be ordering anything else from you.

A bit disappointing. Not nearly enough fruit and it was at least a day old. I thought the soup would come in a bread bowl but instead there was just a rather stale piece of french bread. Definitely I won't be ordering this again.
