"Took a chance and tried this nice establishment, as we were in the mood for some righteous Chow Mein and Chow Fun.
It's hard to find proper Cantonese versions of both. Chow Mein is normally merely passable, with the horrid lo mein noodles raking up space in my gullet.
I was pleasantly surprised by the "craftsmanship" of both. very "wok-hei" when it arrived. Flavor was nostalgic, of SF Chinatown and the old-time Bay Area style of cooking .
The veggies were not my fave, stringy and a bit chewy, but that's ok. I just ate more noodles.
Sometimes I judge a Chinese restaurant by their tomato egg over rice dish. Not bad. A little salty, but it's ok, I just ate more noodles.
Overall, well done, Top Cafe. We'll be back.

"I've ordered takeout from here twice now. Both times the portions have been really big and great value for money. The food has also been packaged well so that it doesn't leak or spill. The Secret Lamb Wok had a nice numbing spice to it. The 2.食尚浓汤锅 Fashion Wok is mild with a slightly salty bone broth, it is great if you have a cold. The hot pots come with sauces and a variety of toppings, every bite is tasty and different. I also got the 小碗西红柿鸡蛋 Tomato stir fry eggs which have a comforting taste that is good with rice. I really recommend this place for take out and hope to try more dishes."

The soup had so many ingredients in it but still lacked flavor; it felt like it desperately needed "something" but I can't put my finger on what that'd be. The cuts of meat had tendons still attached which made it chewy and some parts inedible. That's what turned my stomach. Additionally there were lots of herbs in the soup and I bit one of them and it had this extremely overpowering taste and I couldn't eat anymore. I'm giving stars because the portion size was still good and the food seemed fresh. Everything was well packaged. However I will probably order from a different noodle place next time."

"I recently ordered from Shang Cafe through DoorDash, and I wanted to share my experience in hopes it helps others.
First off, I have to say that the food from Shang Cafe is genuinely good. However, I encountered some frustrating issues that might be worth considering if you're thinking about ordering through DoorDash.
One of the biggest concerns I faced was the pricing. The markup on DoorDash for Shang Cafe is quite steep, leading to overpaying by about 30 to 40 percent for just about every dish. It was disappointing to realize that, in addition to that, the fees on DoorDash added up quickly, making the experience feel like I was being taken advantage of.
On top of that, while waiting for my order, I noticed that my Dasher was left waiting for over 30 minutes at the restaurant. That’s a long time, and it really threw off the estimated delivery. It seems like the kitchen is not run very efficiently, as I've also experienced significant wait times even when dining in. You can expect to wait 30 minutes or more after placing an order, which can be frustrating if you're hungry!
While I appreciate the quality of the food, the hassle and the cost made me feel a bit cheated. I just wanted to share this so that other community members are aware before placing their orders. Ultimately, I am starting to question if I should ever go back. I think the pricing is dishonest."

I had the Sichuan Spicy Soup Base 川式麻辣烫（1.5 lb） with three different beefs, and a handful of veggies. The delivery (1 bowl) arrived almost an hour and a half after ordered, but was worth it. The meats were cooked but the potatoes were not. The broth was still warm (didn't need heating up), and I enjoyed making my own little sauce bowl at home with the Garlic Paste 蒜泥 , Chili Sauce 辣椒酱 Sesame Sauce 麻酱 , Cilantro 香菜 , and Chopped Green Onion 葱花 .
