"First time trying Sals, I like the NY theme and they get points for having Black and white cookies but for the price the pizza was not good enough even from a Southern California perspective ( not known for our pizza, good spots aren't that common). I'd give it a pass if it wasn't pushing the NY presentation but because it is I have to judge accordingly. My Dads side of the family is from Bronx/yonkers so I grew up visiting there and Jersey and also scouting out the good local places in SD and OC. The biggest issue was the crust, I ordered well done and got undercooked floppy pizza, crust didn't have much of a taste either. Wasn't much sauce on it so didn't really notice what it tasted like it was so subtle. Cheese was good quality though and tasty. "

"Where to start...how about the doughy, fresh, cheesy Spinach Pinwheel ! Tasted just-baked and came with mouthwatering marinara. The Mozzarella Sticks were crunchy and fresh, a treat I felt deserving of tonight. The Caesar Salad came with mozzarella cheese and tomatoes, which shouldn't be on a Caesar salad. Wasn't super impressed, but not worth docking a star for. Just wouldn't order this salad again. The SM 10" - 6 Slices ( 1-2 people ) was AMAZING. The buttery crust was filled with delicious toppings. The chicken was thick-sliced breast meat, and the mushrooms, sausage, garlic, and pepperoni all were plentiful as well! The Wings were gone in a flash! He said he wants to try them fried next time.
