"Super yummy! And they followed all our special requests! The A-1 Burger was cooked how I asked and was large and juicy and decadent. I had mashed potatoes as the side and they were real potatoes, super flavorful and comforting. My friend had the Wedge Salad and gave me a bite. It wasn't served in a wedge, but it had that great classic taste. They also had the Side Gouda Mac and Cheese. It was wonderful! Awesome flavor. We both had LEMONADE that was tasty and not just like Minutemaid from the soda machine. And the Crab & Chorizo Dip had tons of meat. "This was my first time trying Smalls, and to be honest, I figured it would just be "another basic burger joint". Instead, I was pleasantly surprised. Their fries arrived still hot and crispy - even after traveling across town. And the portion was very generous. I'd equate it to a large waffle fries from a certain chicken sandwich place... They had good flavor and were tasty on their own. Their queso has a very, very subtle kick to it that worked well with the fries also.
Now, for the featured item: the burgers. I ordered a pair of the regular burgers and one of the bbq bacon jalapeƱo burgers (no bbq for me). And I was impressed - the jalapeƱos were flavorful without being too spicy, so you actually got the flavor of the pepper as well as a little kick - more than the queso but still very mild. The burger patty itself was moist and flavorful. The bacon was actually a good chewy bite instead of soggy or crumbly. The bun was soft and buttery. You actually get a really good balance of flavors in each bite. I think what I like most though is that it was just enough for a small appetite like mine. Overall impression? I will definitely order again. Their prices are reasonable, the food is actually good and not just passable. And the service is quick. And bonus - they actually look at the order and get the details right - something far too many places manage to flub up."
