"I purchased a light chicken fajita rollup with a crispy chicken tender salad, and mozzarella sticks on the side over the weekend. I don’t know if all chicken fajita rollups come with a side of cheddar mashed potatoes, but my mine did. (Definitely Appreciated) I ate my meal with a fork and made mashed potato fajita combinations throughout the course of the meal and was drawn back at how savory and well prepared this dish was with every bite. There are dishes like these that make me wonder why more websites and apps that provide services for pickup/delivery orders don’t push to create an option to tip your chef as well?. (Magnifico) The Fajita rollup, 9 out of 10. The mashed potatoes, 9 out of 10. And although I haven’t gotten to the mozzarella sticks yet or salad yet, I’m pretty sure that they will be far from a subpar tasting cheese stick and salad. Applebees’ chef cooked this meal to perfection. The lettuce was fresh, chicken was savory, their mashed potatoes were the best that I’ve had in a while. They weren’t over seasoned and smothering. They come with a generous amount of extra cheddar cheese and chipotle sauce on the side. (Totally Used That, And Loved It As Well) I didn’t think their meal would be as good as it was. Ladies and Gentlemen, Their Chef Can Cook. The hustle and bustle of the day can make it easy to forget that cooking is an ART. I didn’t forget last night to say the least. You can order two Fajita Rollups and they will carry you through an 8 or 10hr shift easily. It’s hard to hold on to what may get you down through the week when Applebee’s is on the menu. I’m Happy. I ordered two breakfast tacos through DoorDash. The DoorDash experience and my delivery driver were both excellent.
I ordered the #1 Taco with Tender Belly bacon, scrambled eggs, and Monterey Jack cheese, along with the #4 Taco with chorizo, scrambled eggs, and Monterey Jack cheese. Unfortunately, the tacos themselves were disappointing.
I understand the concept of breakfast tacos and how the different ingredients are intended to work together to create a balanced flavor profile. In this case, however, the scrambled eggs, which made up most of the filling, had virtually no flavor. Even a small amount of salt or basic seasoning would have made a significant difference. It felt like the expectation was for the meat alone to flavor the entire taco.
The #1 taco contained only a single strip of bacon, while the #4 had a decent amount of chorizo. Even so, neither taco came together in a way that justified the price.
Overall, the value just wasn’t there. The ingredients may have been fresh, but the lack of seasoning and the portion of bacon left these tacos falling well short of expectations."
