"OK. A Saturday afternoon and wanted to order for me and my wife so we could chill out and have a date day. Looked on DoorDash and noticed Golden Corral. Honestly, had not eaten there in ages. My memory of it was low cost low quality food for a budget meal. Primarily wanted some carrot cake, and they had that for delivery. Scrolled down and saw a slice for $1.99 and an entire cake for $14.99. Almost didn't order because figured at that price it would be terrible. But did so anyway, and also ordered a huge family salad with ham and bacom added. Wife also loves salad. It got delivered. Looked like an immense ham sandwich without the french bread. I mean seriously, it was absolutely delicious and big. Will easily get another two meals out of this. Then came the test: the $14.99 for an entire carrot cake. Have ordered a slice of carrot cake for ten bucks and over from other places. Well, tasted it and absolutely blown away. It was delicious: moist, not too sweet and just the right amount of icing. Not as thick as other places, but at $14.99 for the entire cake if we wanted we could put two slices together! No, seriously, we were both really surprised and actually amazed at the quality of what we ordered as well as the cost. Will be trying other items, and even if not the same result, just the salad and the carrot cake will bring us back. Color us really surprised and impressed."
