It holds up to all that meat and cheese without falling apart. Absolute perfection.
You can tell they do it right — the meat is hot and juicy on the flat top, the cheese is fully melted in, the roll is toasted. And it’s HUGE. This will absolutely fill you up.
Service was fast and friendly even though they were slammed, and I love that they’re open late. That takeout kitchen at 119 Spring St Suite 2 is a lifesaver for downtown Charleston late-night cravings. I ordered ahead for curbside pickup and it was ready in minutes.
A Taste of Philly Down South is exactly what they promise. If you’re craving a Wizard, a Super Chicken Cheesesteak, or just the classic, don’t go anywhere else in Charleston.

Ehh all the other places were less than mediocre and frankly a waste of money BUT boy did I luck up when I ordered here!!! I wasn't able to eat as soon as I received my order, so it sat for a good hour before sitting down to eat. I ordered the crispy fried oysters and the tavern burger......both of which you'd think would just be a soggy mess if not eaten right away. My oysters were the crispiest I've had anywhere in years! My burger was just delicious and the bun still crispy and mmm mmm buttery!
I was skeptical about the tavern burger when ordering. I thought....."ehhh, I don't know about that relish stuff on a burger." I had planned on asking for the relish to be put on the side but now I wish I would have asked for extra! Everything was absolutely delicious!

The only thing I do recommend is them allowing extra special requests where you can type in something if it's not on the menu. For instance, I'm a southern girl, ranch isn't a condiment, it's a neccesity on my fries but I was not able to request this. I did send a message to the dasher on her arrival to the restaurant but she did not do this (even though she read the message 6 mins before I received a message stating she was on the way).
