"I wrote a review earlier but for whatever reason it wasn't published so here it is again. Their Thai Tea tasted like it came from a powdered form, and it didn't taste good. There are far better boba places that makes tastier Thai Tea than this place. The Salted Caramel Milk Tea was meh. It tasted very artificially sweet. Would not recommend these two drinks."

"The eggroll is more like lumpia and I'd say it's the best I’ve ever had I would suggest that they add that clear fish sauce they have for the dumplings as a side for the eggrolls.
The dumplings were visually stunning the wrappers were these gummy beautiful crystal clear gelatinous things that showed off the fillings. The flavors were great they just arrived cold which isn't the restaurants fault.
The Pate Chaud tasted great but it's a tiny ball of pate surrounded by the dough so I would say if they added more pate the ratio would be better because right now it's a lot of air in the breading.
Overall great food though the egg rolls stood out a lot which is impressive for an eggroll."

"Normally I love Butterfly Belly, I'm not sure if they were just having an off night or what, but my concerns started when the dasher messaged me they had to wait an extra half an hour to pick up the food because the server was playing guitar instead of tending to customers, seating people acknowledging he was there, etc.
When we got the food, they packaged it so poorly that the Thai tea had exploded all over the items in the bag & soaked everything in tea, making it inedible. Even if that hadn't happened, the food itself was nowhere near the quality it usually is. There was hardly any meat in anything, the lettuce wrap mix was mostly just onions & grease. There was no sauce at all in the vermicelli, and the egg rolls were dripping in grease.
I don't know what changed, I've never had this experience before at Butterfly Belly, it was extremely disappointing. This has long been one of my favorite restaurants in Portland, so i don't know if this was just an off night, but I really hope they can figure out what happened and address these issues in the future. "

"Oh my god that chocolate cake is to die for!! I haven't tried the lemon or german chocolate cakes yet, but believe me when I say that one slice was GOOD!! I don't normally eat cakes because I find them quite meh, but that chocolate cake was moist, held together amazingly well, and the frosting was generous without being too much. The whole cake was chocolatey af but wasn't too sweet because of the dark chocolate elements. Easily one of the best cakes I've ever purchased if not THE best. Will definitely be back before I leave portland. Also, the size of that slice was enough to keep me snacking on it for over an hour while I read a book, it was very thick and almost never ending. My bag with the 3 slices was unexpectedly heavy, they definitely give you your money's worth in every way. HIGHLY recommend!!"
"The Haydn Steak Burger was fantastic: cooked exactly how I wanted, white cheddar with fresh vegetables, and the bun cooked prior, giving the inside a nice crisp.
The cakes were, of course, top tier. I personally got the Raspberry Gateau and Passion; I would have also received the marionberry cheesecake, but they were out of it.
I was originally scouting out if the cakes here were worth the price tag for a birthday, and I have to say: these cakes are worth a VERY special occasion. Yes, the pricetag fits the slice; presentation is half the point of a cake, and Hadyn definitely delivers. But it would be overpriced if the taste didn't match. On this point, I underestimated them: they taste BETTER than I thought they would. I don't care for overly sweet cakes with too much sugar, and these cakes are NOT; the ganache is especially complex, with tart raspberries to blend with the bitter dark chocolate of the cake, which is dense, but moist.
Overall, both fantastic cakes. Worth the price."
