The bed of rice was perfectly cooked, with a buttery hint for flavour. There were very generous portions of lamb and chicken, seasoned generously and incredibly succulent.
I topped mine off with the white sauce and the hot sauce, which perfectly complemented the meats. The depth of smoky flavour and the bold kick in the hot sauce make it clear that this is not your run-of-the-mill bottled premade sauce. I very genuinely believe this is a house-made sauce, and the quality shines through.
Overall, for the portion sizes and flavour that you get, this price point is a steal.
I'm always on the lookout for a new Middle Eastern spot to frequent as a regular, and I dare say I've found it. I VERY strongly recommend trying a mix of the white sauce and the hot sauce on your dish!"
"Tried this place out after my usual halal place suffered a deterioration in quality. Shah's is a top-tier restaurant not only by halal standards but for cuisine in general. Portions are great, meat is delicious (the chicken moreso, but the lamb is still tasty), they give a generous amount of hummus/chick peas/beans, and they even give you a nice surprise treat to top it all off. I've since ordered from here multiple times, it's my goto for the best halal food in town. Fantastic place!"
