The chicken was still tender and moist. I really liked the yams- they weren't sweet like candy and all syrupy which I greatly appreciated. The mac n cheese is mid. "I was under the weather, and figured Sopa de Pollo / Chicken Soup was the right move. I looked around and figured I'd try Costambar since it was close and relatively quick. I have genuinely never had a better chicken soup in my life. I don't even like yucca, and this worked incredibly well with it. Honestly, better than most sancocho I've had. it was flavorful and the consistency of sancocho, but with its own direction and a few noodles."

"Unfortunately a big bust. I was craving the Boil in JC and sadly since they closed, thought I'd try a new place. I got the large catch with headless shrimp, corn, potatoes, a lobster tail, and Dungeness crab. After a little delivery snafoo where it was left inside my neighbor's home. I finally got to sit down and open it up. I was quickly pretty sad.
In general, everything was overcooked especially the corn and the potatoes. The corn mushy and the potatoes also mushy and not "snappy". The crab itself was good, sweet but the sauce was very watery? Idk why and lacking garlic or Cajun flavor. The shrimp also overcooked. I had to clean the lobster tail myself (see photo) which if anybody knows the black tube down the back is the poop shoot and if you just say "eff it" and eat it, it's sandy and gritty.
For the $130 price point, I would have higher expectations for quality, cleanliness, and flavor and this place was just not it."
