• 22-04-07Ordered tripe fried rice and intestine tofu stew for lunch, and I regretted it.
Tripe fried rice has small portion (for-one size), very salty, not much tripe in sight. Intestine tofu stew has ugly presentation (tofu was broken and veggies not looking fresh), also too much salt.
My takeaway is this: if I want Kimchi fried rice, I will just order it from B.B.Q. chicken next door, and BCD Tofu has much better tofu stew for similar price. Sorry Gooyi, BCD really set the tofu stew bar very high in Irvine.
Pros: packaging is great, utensils are great, Banchan looks & tastes great.
My criticism might be too harsh since, after all, Gooyi is a KBBQ place, and Fried Rice and Tofu Stew are not its specialties. But hey, if you cannot apply the same standard to these "side" dishes, why put them on the menu?
