These were really, really good pastries. It's actually hard, in my opinion, to get really excellent, classic danish in NYC & Patisserie Chanson hits the mark with their pain aux raisins & cheese danish. You can tell these items are carefully made & baked - not mass produced by a roving set of kinda bakers. I am always amazed that so many of the famous, "very French" bakeries in NYC - which inevitably spawn chains - are so mediocre overall. A couple of them have breakfast pastries t& croissant that are almost limp. Or the pastries have too much gloppy "frosting" or filling which overwhelm and eventually soften the pastry itself. These pastries were old-school in the best possible sense. Superb.

One of my favorite brunch spots! The Smoked Salmon Benedict is insane, and the Latte Violette is one of my favorite drinks in the city

Usually their macchiato is very good but today it tasted burned. They also messed up my order. You'd think that a shop charging $6.50 for basic pasty would be more attentive to orders

The hashbrown in the eggs benedict has too much salt. Rest of the items are well made and tasty. Especially since smoked salmon already brings a high saltiness, the hash browns would taste better unsalted, as to not overwhelm and overpower the Eggs Benedict.
