I'm vegetarian and I've always loved this restaurant, for its many options and replication of meat flavors. In particular I like the chicken fried rice, crispy tofu with salt and chili pepper, fried crispy wonton with sweet chili sauce and sweet corn soup. Suddenly almost everything I liked was removed from the menu. I did call and they said that I could still get these items, but that I would have to order something similar from DoorDash and then call the kitchen to ask them to substitute. The first time I did this it worked out fine. But I just did it again and was pretty disappointed.
The crispy tofu with salt and chili pepper arrived soaking wet. There was about almost an inch of mostly water at the bottom of the container. That made all of the tofu wet instead of crispy and completely ruined the dish. The fried crispy wontons arrived without the chili sauce and without any sauce. The chicken fried rice was decent, but cold on arrival. The only thing that was consistent was the sweetcorn soup.
I wish they would put all my favorites back on the menu so that I don't have to call to have it substituted and they need to be more careful about packaging and preparation. This was the first time I've had a bad experience, so I will definitely give them another try, but I don't understand all the menu changes without giving customers the option to still get their favorite dishes on the app, rather than going through the hassle of having to call .

flavor is not authentic and lacking. tastes very much americanized - peanut buttery style tan tan noodles,rather than actual sichuan style; mapo tofu has a BBQ sauce kind of taste to it. wonton stuffed mostly with rather plain tofu. steamed dumplings were not bad. but overall, sadly, it felt over priced for what it was at the end of the day.

These are not only the small sesame balls ive ever had, but greasy and a few had no filling. It was no wonder theyre so cheap!

The food is basic and good. Generally, the food containers used by this restaurant (Irving St) are compostable. Also, the food comes in a paper bag. This is why I like supporting this business. However, twice the food came in plastic containers. I hope they continue to use the compostable, paper containers and not plastic ones. The last two orders came in plastic bags. I hope they return to paper bags. The delivery is always great.
