Gus' on Haight employs some of the best, nicest, and most efficient sandwich crafters in town. I am admittedly addicted to the Valencia. Fell in love with this simple sandwich after planting some trees in SF with Friends of the Urban Forest. Hit the spot after 4 hrs of digging in the dirt! The apples were a nice touch -- they really balance the texture, flavor, and overall substance of the magnificent hand-held nutritional marvel. I get mine on soft French bread with extra apples. We love the sandwiches and salads. They're always fresh. This time when we ordered the sandwiches, none of them were labeled with the names or the sandwich types so this will make it harder to separate. Usually the sandwich name is written on them....

I paid extra for more meat and instead of giving me more they split one serving of meat between cheese to make it look like 2 servings of meat. I've ordered this sandwich twice before, I know what extra meat is supposed to look like.
If I pay for it please don't cheat me.

Masterful in every way, Gus's supplies superb sandwiches, divine cheeses and the coffee is exceptional. Sincerely jealous of everyone who grew up on this place.
