Banana pudding was awesome. Unfortunately, the vanilla cupcakes were fake-tasting, dry, no real vanilla or butter taste, and over-priced for 2 tiny cupcakes.

Is this store associated with Magnolia Bakery in NYC? If so the quality and taste fall abysmally short of the standard set by the original. This was barely better than Kroger. If this is an affiliated bakery then this branch needs to step their baking game up, and they are not affiliated that should be brought to customers attention.

The World-Famous Banana Pudding - Chocolate Hazelnut (Frozen Dessert) Cup (16 fl oz) was truly delicious. The Magnolia Bakery Chocolate Chunk Banana Pudding Cookies (4 ct) were okay - a little dry but still good flavor, maybe pop them in the microwave. However, the Red Velvet Cupcakes 2 pk were sub-par, even thawed - they were very dry, crumbly, and lacking in flavor.

Meh. much better off going to a fresh local bakery, and waiting to enjoy magnolia bakery when you're in NYC. Particularly for the banana cream pudding that arrives frozen if ordered through door dash (i should have paid more attention) and certainly loses proper texture when thawed. But even in NYC, magnolia bakery lost its allure some time ago, so probably better off going elsewhere there too these days.
