Lonesome Rose, housed in a renovated former punk rock club, is known for serving some of the best Mexican food in Logan Square. The menu offers great renditions of favorites like queso, tacos, and nac…
The Howdy Kolache is inspiring. The empanadas were crisp and the filling was seasoned perfectly. And that burrito was a perfect combination (I went grilled fish). Whole meal was extremely satisfying and I'll probably make this my goto going forward

We ordered tacos- fish, beef, chicken and chickpea- phenomenal!! Vegan Quesco was spot on..good flavors that stood on their own vs trying to imitate cheese. Guac was good as well. Definitely a keeper!! PS.. the batter on the chicken and the fish was still crispy after traveling for 60 mins-a true sign of quality...with each taco having its on dedicated lime...WOW!! And no I did not get paid to write this review but want to recognize good food!

This recent order reduced the amount of avocado in the Chickpea Tinga Bowl--about half of what's usually in it.
chips tasted kind of old ... still very fast and close and fresh! just not quite as good as usual - Love the compostable containers !

Garbanzo taco was delicious!
Chips, queso, quac, brisket taco, chicken taco were good, not great.
Baja burrito wasn't super flavorful, beef in the burrito and taco tasted like hamburger meat, horchata was $6 for 8 oz and mediocre.

Unfortunate first time order from Lonesome Rose, food had decent flavor but these have been the absolute smallest servings for Mexican food (of which there are many) for the price point I've encountered in the city of Chicago. Both the pozole and pastor bowl were less than 1/2 the size of anything else at nearby Mexican restaurants. The pastor bowl came in a small takeout box as it was, and still 1/3 of the serving was pico de gallo. Surprised given the positive ratings but frankly zero reason to go back here - much better options out there.
