I got the oxtail Oxtails Plate, and Karas Fried Catfish &shrimp plate, Fried Chicken Wings, and Lowcountry Okra Crisp. It's my first time trying this restaurant and everything looked good, and trust me when I said ALL that I got was really really good! Everything was so fresh, tasteful, savory, and overall delicious. Definitely my go to from now on.

Omg!!This place has definitely become a favorite!! We've order twice Gullah Big Back Bowl and Island Gwada Buffalo Shrimp (8)Mac & Cheese The portions are generous, and the food arrives hot. Everything is incredibly flavorful!! Definitely ordering again!! Highly recommend 10/10!!❤️

The food is AMAZING!! The Fried Chicken Wings, Mac n cheese and greens were cooked to perfection. As for the Jose’s Big Banana Dream, if you like banana pudding this is MUST have. One of the best if not the best banana puddings I've tried. Gwada Soul, is there any way you all can add Peach Cobbler to the menu? Will 100% be ordering from here again

I normally don't do this, but i'd be remised if I didn't share my true experience. I took a friend to experience this establishment for the first time today, and we weren't impressed. They didn't provide free water. I had to order a bottle of water, that cost $2/bottle. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits, which was $26/plate, with a side of small candied yams for $9/sm bowl, extra. Never in my entire life of being a person of color, (or not), have I had grits that looked like instant potatoes, and I had to use a spoon to eat them. The shrimps were on the small size, and the grits were soupy. The service was ok, but I know we all need to make a decent wage to live. I really wasn't impressed, but still gave a nice tip. They ran out of tenders, so we ordered the wings instead. The ckn wgs, grns, and mac'n cheese, was on point. The owner/chef did ask questions. I was really not happy with the consistency of the grits. They need to memic La Fete's SG for example and price.
