This was my first time trying the BBQ three-combination rice from Wang Kee BBQ, but honestly, it felt almost identical to Chenji BBQ’s version.
I chose my usual favorites — roast duck, crispy pork belly, and soy sauce chicken. The portion size was still on the smaller side, although the price was slightly more reasonable compared to Chenji BBQ.
One thing I noticed was that the soy sauce chicken pieces were cut very large. I think smaller pieces would’ve given a better texture and eating experience.
Just like Chenji’s combo, it also came with winter melon soup, pickled vegetables, and half a salted duck egg. The overall flavor and presentation were surprisingly similar, to the point where I could barely tell the difference between the two restaurants.
Overall, the food tasted decent, but considering the portion size, it still didn’t feel especially worth the price.
