This was my first order and everything was perfect. I am Nigerian so a little weary with African restaurants, but I finished my okra soup and pounded yam in about 5 minutes; this was authentic! The okra was delicious (made just like my dad's). Saved the jollof for later, but I took a bite and that was made very good as well.

The plaintain was dry and there was only 6 in the entire container, meaning i paid over a dollar for each plaintain. The Tilapia Fresh Fish (1 pc) that i received was better. The stew was slightly a bit too salty but the tilapia was cooked well and was sizable and fit the price.

THUMBS DOWN 👎1) Beans taste stale, almost spoiled.
2) Small portion of Okro Soup with stale Amala that taste bad
3) None of the food taste fresh

Followed instruction to pack the Amala in a bowl instead of in Saran wrap, and added a little bit of plaintains to extra Beans that was substituted for the Yam Porridge that was out of stock.

Visiting from NC for a conference. Whenever out of town I always look for delicious African food. ZK African Lounge is top tier. Egusi Soup with fried fish and fufu was amazing. It was fresh, hot, tasty, nice spice, portions was adequate overall 10/10. Will definitely order again before leaving DC. Keep up the delicious work ZK!!!!!

The oxtail was great. The boiled egg was ok. The cowskin piece came in 1 pc in sauce and tough, instead of many small pieces in seasonings spices, as advertised. The 3 assorted meats in sauce came in 1 cow foot only. Pay closer attention to each order please 👀
