Our stunning space, designed by famed architect John A. Bischoff, first opened its doors on January 15th, 1921, as the Elmwood Soda Fountain. They served sandwiches, soup, and espresso to the Berkeley…
The Shakshouka is consistently delicious and thoughtfully packaged. Eggs are perfectly poached and this meal always comforts as well as nourishes.

The sweet corn salad was SO DELICIOUS! Basic ingredient wise - salads tend to stand out more when they're particularly bad.
So first bite was a surprise. The greens are so fresh and crunchy, the onions aren't two oniony, corn is done perfectly. If you've never eaten a tomato ripe from the vine, you probably won't recognize the flavor since there is one - Kalamata olive strength flavor. Fresh herbs, subtle vinaigrette. Good enough to spend this many words on what I consider a side salad. If they threw in more corn and kept the compostable dressing cups dry it would've been a 10.

The breakfast biscuits were great. However, the BAT sandwich's ingredients were basically non existent. Very good quality but almoat nothing there for a pretty expensive lunch sandwich. That was disappointing.

This was a very generously sized sandwich, that came witha side salad. The turkey was roasted with flavorful herbs, and addition of tomato wasso worth it.

I used to order here a lot but the last few times that ive order the Biscuit Breakfast Sandwich it has been a let down. It use to come with a bunch of eggs and several strips of bacon (it was massive)but now it comes with an egg and a strip of bacon. Definitely not worth the $12 it costs anymore.
