Y'all. Another Broken Egg is SO worth the money. I have eaten there in person a few times and ordered delivery many more. I can't personally speak on all the dishes, but I can say 100% that the Cinnamon Roll French Toast, Grits (with or without cheese), and Baked Bacon are stupendous. My friends who have eaten other dishes like the omelets, shrimp & grits, and pancakes were also impressed.
Idk what they do to that Baked Bacon but it's so flavorful, perhaps I'm tasting some sort of hickory smoke or smthg, idk, but it's also always juicy yet crisp, without being burnt/dry. The pieces are slightly thicker than normal bacon. I can't recommend enough that you take that little mini splurge for extra bacon; it's definitely worth the $5-6.
The side of Grits is a great portion, with at least ~1.5 cups of grits (if you've ever ordered at Flying Biscuit, you'd understand that this is important, because FB gives you like 1/2-1/4 cup or some other laughable amount for a disproportionate price). These grits are stiff instead of runny. You'll need to add a dash of salt and pepper or butter to suit your tastes, but they're perfect once you do. I always order them w/ cheddar Jack, but one time, they accidentally left the cheese off and I still liked them plain.
The Cinnamon Roll French Toast is perfect every time. I love that they provide the rum butter sauce on the side so that the French toast doesn't get soggy or whatever else. When I eat it at home, I always save it for later (because I'm full from the eggs and bacon and the side of grits that I always order with it) and reheat it in the microwave and have a glass of milk with it. Then I end up with two meals: breakfast and a dessert-lunch, lol.
So far, I've only had one error with an order from here, and it was minor -- the cheese missing from the grits. Somehow they always get it right --- utensils, seasonings, butter, and sauces always in the bag as expected. & They're just as exceptional in person.
I just want to add (for those of you who may be on the fence) that you get so much more for the money, quality- and quantity-wise, with the food from here, when compared to places like Flying Biscuit.w
Bon appetit!
