Food is always fresh. The chicken kebabs are grilled perfectly, tender clean pieces. The rice is flavorful, but not overdone. I love the cucumber yogurt sauce with the falafel. I feel I get a way higher than "standard fare" at Al Sham...not run of the mill.

I ordered the chicken Kebab Entrees and Mixed Taste. It was good portion size for both dishes that my boyfriend and I shared them, and still had leftovers. Both orders were delicious and I am pretty sure Al Sham will be one of my go-tos moving foward.

We got the NY lamb and NY chicken and added a side of yellow rice. Food was delicious as usual. Service is always so friendly and accommodating. Portions always give me about 2 meals!

We ordered from Al-Sham last night after hearing recommendations we decided to order...with really high hopes. As former New Yorkers, we've been spoiled by authentic Middle Eastern cuisine, so we were excited to finally find a place people spoke so highly of. The spices and flavors themselves were on point, but unfortunately almost everything else missed the mark. The kofta, lamb kebab, and chicken kebab were all incredibly dry and overcooked. The hummus was overly salty, the pita was stale and had the texture of cardboard, and even the French fries were over fried. This wasn't just a mediocre meal...it was genuinely disappointing, especially considering all the hype. We won't be returning. Sadly, this experience reinforced our belief that Northeast Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs are still lacking when it comes to truly authentic, high quality Middle Eastern cuisine. We had really hoped this would be the exception, but it wasn't.
