From a native Mainer, hands down Amatoes is my favorite place to eat! Italian-American food is my favorite. I was raised on Amatoes and always such a special treat in my family since I can remember. I have frequently ordered from them three times a week. I have recently started using door dash and couldn't be more pleased. I just ordered a spaghetti and meatball dinner, veggie pazzo stuffers and a large ham Italian. I'm eating my fill and will have leftovers for the entire week! It was so hot when it arrived I had to wait to eat it. Yes I ordered all of this just for myself and no delivery fee and more reasonably priced than any place to eat in town. The pazzo stuffers in the picture actually had 2 more, but I ate them before I took the picture.

Large Angus Steak & Cheese no veggies with mayo. Flavorful and fresh. Good quality meat. Good portion size. Would order again

My BLTs are usually good from Amatos but today's arrived with no mayo, burnt bread, and very little bacon. Whoever assembled the sandwich today was either really busy or undertrained.

I love amatos. I've been getting the Italian sandwich with extra tomatoes since I was a kid. They're not always consistent, for instance last time I ordered this exact sandwich there was a ton of meat and cheese, tonight there were two pieces of meat. I obviously keep coming back but I do wish they were always made the same.
