BEST Ethiopian food in NYC, and this is coming from an Ethiopian. Each meal is prepared well, full of flavor and spice level when appropriate. It tastes as close to my mom's and grandma's cooking. Beyond the food, the service is exceptional. They are wonderful staff, welcoming and kind. They go above and beyond to make your experience enjoyable. A must try place!

Doro Wat / Chicken Stew Spicy sauce good but dry and tough meat. The spicy lentils, beets, and cauliflower were good from Awaze Veggie Combo (For One) but others bland. The injera was tasty and the portions very good. However probably would not order again.

Doro wot came with chunks of dry white meat, when the recipe (and the restaurant description) clearly states two drum sticks (not a single drum stick was included). Also injera arrived wet due to poor packaging. The first time we ordered from them, doro wot did come with drumsticks and injera was fine.

Flavorful, though more on the mild side. Personally I wouldn't mind it more spicy. Only real ding would be that they didn't put the sides I chose from the options - one entree with kik alicha as both sides, and one with misr as both, but they each came with one and then different veggies which I don't like as much which is why I didn't choose them in the first place. So 4 stars instead of 5 for that change.
