Sushi was delicious as always! The rolls did break apart easily though. Pick up time was 6:19, I arrived at 6:30 and waited another 5mins. Not sure why it would say it's ready when it wasnt.

Outstanding sushi as always. Everything was fresh and carefully prepared. Loved the nigiri with yakumi. The sea bream was especially delicious because of the shiso leaf and condiment. However the highlight was the Island Hopper roll. I hope they keep it on the regular menu and not just as a summer special. Light, fresh and interesting combination of lemon, shishito and kanpachi. Will definitely order again!

I ordered the green machine with salmon and a spicy tuna roll. Excellent! I've eaten at the restaurant as well. It's worth it to get the fresh wasabi and the Unicorn is a must try. Can't go wong with Bamboo Sushi.

I've eaten at a lot of sushi places and feel like Bamboo has some of the best I've ever had in Portland. It's definitely not inexpensive, but I don't mind paying the price for top-tier sushi.
What makes me hesitate with this place is that they do not automatically include tamari or soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger with your order. You have to manually add each of them as separate items. That would be totally fine—if they actually gave you what you requested. But in my experience, they don’t. And this isn’t a one-time issue—this happens every single time I order.
On a recent order, I spent a hefty chunk of change on sushi for two and requested 2 sides of wasabi, 2 sides of ginger, and 6 tamari packets. These were all checked off on the itemized receipt, so the request was acknowledged—but I only received one side each of wasabi and ginger, and just three tamari packets. Considering how tiny the dab of wasabi is in their to-go containers, it wasn’t even enough for one person, let alone two.
We clearly ordered enough food for two (maybe even three) people, and yet… the request was not honored. Again, this happens every single time I order, and it’s frustrating. I’d love to give this place five stars because the food is genuinely great, but I can’t justify it when they consistently fail to provide a reasonable amount of basic, standard items that are essential to the sushi experience.
I don’t think asking for enough wasabi, ginger, and tamari for two people is excessive—especially when I’ve paid for more than enough food for two. Please do better, Bamboo!

Bamboo sushi is always fabulous. This lower rating is because Doodash did not follow directions to hand the order to me. Instead they left it on the porch on a sunny August evening. Not a good idea with sushi.
