Tucked away in this quiet river town, far from the hollow gloss of chain restaurants and influencer bait, Bella Roma doesn’t scream for your attention. It doesn’t need to. It knows exactly what it is: a local institution slinging unapologetically satisfying Italian-American comfort with a swagger earned through years of doing it right.
Let’s talk food. The fried ravioli? Golden, crispy pockets of old-school indulgence. They don’t pretend to be haute cuisine—and thank God for that. They’re the kind of appetizer that doesn’t whisper to your appetite, it punches it in the jaw and demands, “Let’s go.”
Then came the fresh salad, and I’ll admit—I didn’t expect much. But the thing surprised me. Crisp greens, not some sad afterthought, tossed in a bright, tangy dressing that actually made you want to eat vegetables. A salad that reminded you why fresh matters.
And then, the chicken parmesan—an ode to everything good about Italian-American cooking. Got the Baked Rigatoni Ala Vodka, it was so good. I know the prices are high but they give you enough food for two and it's all great, they threw in a free Garlic Knots on my order, I will def be ordering again.

Not worth the price. They used Jarred garlic in the pasta and on the garlic knots. They also used chocolate syrup on the tiramisu. Not to mention the marinara is from a can. I spent about $60 on two appetizers, one entrée, and one dessert. I would never spend even $20 on it if I knew they took so many shortcuts.
Put pride in what you do, and the rewards for your labor will significantly benefit you—a piece of advice for the kitchen staff.
