I called ahead and told them sometimes my food looks messed with, and if they could secure my food and the girl otp was so nice and assured me that they would staple it and make sure it was secure. And it absolutely was! The food was 10/10 as always but they really did they one this time !!!

it was my first time eating from boxcar... I've heard some good things so I decided to try for myself. I ended up getting the fried green Fried Green Tomatoes with Spicy Mayo which were really good and I also decided to get a chicken sandwich.... didn't enjoy the fact that it's 35 cents per topping so I just stuck with the spicy sauce which I barely got any of that I got 35 cents worth of sauce see picture for proof... I also decided to get the smashburger and it was pretty decent the only thing that I didn't care too much about is the fact that my burger was placed in the bag on its side so all of the juices ran out of the bag see picture for proof... what happened for the dry chicken sandwich to be put on the side versus mine smashburger.... not sure what the white sauce was I did not care too much for that but I'm sure I paid 35 to 50 cent for that....

To be honest, I don't want to say I didn't like it. It just isn't what I remember. Boxcar Betty's used to be a great place for lunch when I lived In West Ashley. I distinctly remember the first time I went and how absolutely incredible their sandwiches were. However, it's been a few years and I was happy to see there was one in Mount pleasant. But the Chicken Tenders (DD) were bland, and the breading didn't adhere to the chicken so they just slipped out of the fry. The fried pickles had almost no flavor at all. Just fried. The fried green Fried Green Tomatoes with Spicy Mayo were the most flavorful item. Which is saying something. Still a very solid value. They are remarkably well priced so I can't be too upset. I just feel let down. I likely wouldn't order from here again. But I also wouldn't discourage anyone from giving boxcars a try. Not everyone has the same spice palette.

4 small grilled Chicken Tenders (DD) cant believe I paid 7.49 for. French Fries DD not in a closed container just in a boat you'd get to dine in so they were spilled all over the bag. This was a multi person order with 4 of the Boxcar sandwich's with modifications and none were marked so had to open all the food to look what was on what.

Fries were really, really good! Nicely seasoned and cooked.
Chicken was also flavorful as well. 9/10 for sure.
