🦀 Crab Boil at Brickhouse
I ordered the crab boil expecting a flavorful, buttery, messy experience! What I got was a little different.
First, I was surprised that crab crackers weren’t provided. Thankfully, the crab legs themselves were very good! They were flavorful, well-seasoned, and a generous portion. Honestly, they had so much flavor that the butter wasn’t even necessary.
The downside was the rest of the boil. The potatoes, corn, and sausage were on the harder, drier side and didn’t have the same flavor or tenderness as the crab legs.
There also wasn’t much of that juicy, buttery mess you typically expect from a seafood boil. While that made cleanup easier, it definitely took away from the traditional crab boil experience.
Overall: The crab legs were definitely the highlight and something I’d order again. I just wish the sides had been as well-prepared and flavorful. A little more moisture, some buttery goodness, and a set of crab crackers would have made a big difference!

The salad was $13 and didn't cover the bottom of the container and the Hushpuppies were too burned to eat. It's possible they were just having an off day because the jambalaya was good and so was the bread pudding.

I had the Patti Melt, sweet potato fries, and Peanut Butter Cheesecake. The sandwich was good, but the sweet potato fries were overcooked. The cheesecake had a weird texture, like a sponge, and didn't taste like cheesecake. The little brown specks on it was their peanut butter and chocolate, which was pretty non-existent. I doubt we will order from there again.

Hush puppies were so over-fried that they were burnt and inedible. The crawfish boil was okay, but the sausage that came with it was dry and had gristle in it, very low quality. Vodoo shrimp tacos were very generic, seems to be made from untoasted store-bought flour tortilla shells, frozen shrimp, and soggy slaw. Cornbread was okay. Only saving grace was the pecan pie. Overall, terrible food.
