I've dined at Cane several times and have no complaints! I'm a proud Trini and love the curries, jerk wings, oxtails, doubles and cocktails. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu. It's a small and intimate setting but they're efficient and the staff is friendly.

This is my first time enjoying gourmet Jamaican cuisine and doing so at an eatery so paradoxic titled. There is nothing "street" about this fare. It is about as upscale as Jamaican food gets. Yesterday, I had Jamaican home style food elsewhere, and today I introduced my taste buds to an exquisite upgrade. I ordered a whole fish, which was prepared so organically that the fish was practically blowing bubbles. Ocean to table. The cross cut pattern in which it was cut was perfect for a communal dig-in. You know that you're eating something special when a 9 y/o takes a bite and exclaims "mmmnnmmm!". I also ordered the rum punch, which engages the palate full tilt: powerful, like Money Mayweather. I lasted one round before K.O. I could see myself booking a ticket to DC, on a whim, just so that I could enter the ring again. My only critique is that the fish and its condiments were poorly packaged, and the whole bag was soaked---with the powerful aroma of fish, so I had to unpack the paper bag and clean the exteriors of the containers before I could comfortably serve dinner. I am all for minimalism and eco consciousness, but at the prices this restaurant commands, packaging needs to secure the contents.

The food is INCREDIBLE!! It's consistently PERFECT! My only complaint is sorrel isn't on the menu, and they WAAAAAY over charge for tamarind sauce. $3 for a tiny sample size to go container is a little bit like being robbed.

The wings were amazing!! Cannot rave about them enough - succulent and fall off the bone perfection! The kale side could've used more flavoring, and more of the spicy sauce if that is the palette they were going for. Overall, a delicious meal!

Cane Caribbean is the best! Their curried chicken and jerk wings are my go to. Definitely worth the price and wait.

I can't recommend this place enough. It's one of my favorite places in DC. It delivers really well, and everything is aromatic and flavorful. The curries make a great meal for 2-3 people. The oxtail and chicken wings are also exceptional.
