The Cavalryman Steakhouse is located on the parade grounds of historic Fort Sanders, founded in July 1866. Originally named Fort Buford for Major General John Buford, this post was renamed Fort Sand…

Both steaks tasted great and were cooked to perfection but they were tough. The sides and deserts were great.
A $36.00 steak should at the very least be tender. We ate at The Chop House last week and the steaks were melt in your mouth tender but the sides were terrible. That's the trade off in Laramie.

Shrimp & fries were way over seasoned, we had to wipe them off to eat. The burger was the size of a junior burger at any fast food chain & had nothing with it besides lettuce (it was ordered w/o the bun.) Burgers usually come with onion, pickles, tomatoes & some condiment. The restaurant did not include any utensils or napkins - I would think that would be standard delivering to a hotel. Oh, the order of asparagus was fantastic, but only had 4 spears. What a disappointment.

Food was good except the mashed potatoes tasted off. Hit or miss if you get soda bread or not. There's no way to order horse radish for a condiment so I called and they said they'd take care of it and the butter for the soda bread. Didn't get either. Wild Mushroom Polenta was outstanding.
