Cedar Palace is always top notch quality and service (if you call). Chicken Shawarma Sandwich is super flavorful with an amazing garlic sauce and a step up from typical Middle-eastern shawarmas, highly recommend! They also sent me a complimentary Kataifi (think cousin of baklava) which I think is off-menu, just to get people to try new items, and it's delicious and very kind of them.

I love cedar palace, they are a lincoln park institution for a reason. It's pricey but worth it. I would have liked to see a 2nd garlic sauce and hummus included for the price. I also felt there was a bit too much rice for the amount of meat included. Would order again with additional sauce and hummus.

The reviews were so promising but my experience was disappointing. Got the Spinach Sautéed Dinner Plate which was primarily a large box of rice with a little of the spinach mixture on top. The spinach and feta mixture was good but not nearly enough. But after about an hour, I was having horrible tummy aches. Maybe too much garlic. Lentil soup had way too much of some sort of spice-like paprika maybe. I also got a salad that had brown lettuce and it didn't come with nearly enough dressing.

The portions are big, the food is fresh, the owners are a delight and you can't go wrong with the lentil soup, feta salad, falafel, babaganoush, or bakalava!

I'd give them 5 stars if they weren't so stingy with the tahini . Most places will give you one with each sandwich for free . They're fine if you dine in. Other than that they have the best falafel in the city .
